LIVING ALIGNED EVENING WORKSHOP SERIES With SHAWN MACDONELL and LINDA VANDERLEE

LIVING ALIGNED EVENING WORKSHOP SERIES
With SHAWN MACDONELL and LINDA VANDERLEE

By Hilda Young

Do you feel like you're chugging along on the wrong track in life? Maybe you're in need of some guidance to figure out where it is you want to go. Shawn McDonell and Linda Vanderlee have partnered up to offer the Living Aligned Evening Series in Ottawa.

“Energy meets experience” is the vision statement for the Living Aligned Evening series of workshops co-facilitated by Shawn MacDonell, founder of Creativision and Linda Vanderlee, owner of Rendezvous Rupert. Shawn MacDonell, 25, is from Shawville Quebec, a small community in the Pontiac. He is full of youthful enthusiasm and creative ideas. Rick Valin, one of Shawn’s former teachers and apprentice coaches said, “he is self motivated.” Rhonda Morrison, Outaouais CEDEC director said, "he was born an entrepreneur. He is intuitive.”

Linda Vanderlee, 50, chose to live in the small community of Rupert, close to Wakefield Quebec, where she has renovated a century old barn into a retreat center. She said that she tends to experience life challenges first then learn the theory behind them! During her life journey she has lived, worked and traveled in East Africa, Canada and Mexico. Her clients have included Carlington Community Health Services and Citizen and Immigration Canada.

Together the two make a formidable combination, as both believe in what they can bring to others' lives. Shawn's upbeat attitude is grounded in strong community support, enabling him to connect with all ages. Linda has life experience and a laid back attitude that compliments Shawn’s youthful creativity. Together they reach out and create abundance versus a scarcity mentality and stimulate others to find meaning within their own lives. Shawn encourages people to embrace technology while Linda feels enjoys connecting with people one on one.

The Living Aligned workshops series was originally conceived by Linda Vanderlee as a weekend retreat format, however as she is partnering with Shawn the set up has changed. The introductory evening will allow people to explore their connections with both Linda and Shawn. Following that will be four evening sessions in which they will explore 4 topics at a deeper level.

Linda’s philosophy is summarized as follows:

"Our beliefs determine our perspective. What we believe is what we tend to live. Remarkable things happen when a small group of individuals who share an interest in choosing to live an authentic life spend time and conversation together."

Creativision is an organization that strives to help others work with, develop and use their passions in a way that is meaningful to them and earns them a living. Creativision works on many different levels and is grounded in years of story and resource gathering and sharing.
The workshop series will be of interest to adults of all ages in transition looking to make changes in their life style or looking to define themselves better. On Tuesday, March 30th there will be an introductory session from 6 pm to 9 pm at Heartwood House 153 Chapel St., Ottawa. Cost $30. The mini sessions will touch on the four themes: Creativity, Beliefs, Vision and Support that will be explored jointly by Linda and Shawn over four Tuesday's, April 13, 20, 27 and May 4.
